Oxidised starch is one of the most common modified starches used in surface sizing because of its good film-forming characteristics and reduced tendency to retrogradation. It improves the quality of paper and cardboard across both primary and secondary semi-finished products.
Cationic starch allows the use of more filler and recycled fibres, thereby reducing furnishing cost. As a surface-size agent, cationic starch improves stiffness, opacity, printing quality and brightness.
We also manufacture spray starch, used as an adhesive in ply-bond multi-layer board paper, where it improves the internal bonding strength of the sheet.
